The Dynamics of Metaphor in the Poetry of Mushtaq Hamid Finjan: (Confessions of a Violin) as a Model

Abstract

Poetic imagery is a painting with words, subject to specific parameters and conditions that make this process of painting a creative one. It affects the recipient and places them in a state of wonder. Metaphorical imagery is among the most capable poetic images of achieving this. It is an image from a group of images, or a complex formation, through which the poet works to transfer the semantic function of the word to other functions, painting different and beautiful worlds. The poetic image is a subjective, aesthetically pleasing artistic construct through which the poet reveals their innermost feelings and expresses their emotions via their unique language, thus producing an image that distinguishes them from other poets. A distinguished poet possesses the ability to create poetic imagery that resonates with the reader's taste, drawing them into the text. This literary ability is indicative of the artistry of the poet, whose skill is demonstrated through the reader's engagement with their work.

In this research, we will explore the dynamics of metaphorical imagery in the poetry of Dr. Mushtaq Hamid Finjan in his collection "Confessions of a Violin," employing a stylistic approach based on observing and analyzing artistic phenomena according to a vision that connects the phenomenon to stylistic aesthetics.
