Abstract

This research deals with the symbol in the shields of Abu Ala Al-Maari, poems that fall within the Diwan of Abu Ala Al-Maari (Fall of the ulna), a huge poetic Diwan, and Aldiriyat includes many symbols and puzzles.

We have taken in this research a new approach based on the interpretation of the symbol in the shields texts from the poems of the shields and other texts broadcast in the same bureau, or the Office of the necessities and then compare them and interpret each other..

We dealt with three shields; the first revolves around the issue of loss and shortage and the departure of young people, the second expresses its isolation and justifies the way of life, and the third revolves around the subject of philosophical preaching is the shield speech to the sword..

The research consists of an introduction and a preamble on the concept of the symbol and three topics dealing with the first topic of the life of Abu Ala Al-Maari and his era, and the second examines the meaning of the shield language and idiom and the history of the emergence of shields and the motives of the systems, and the third section included images of the symbol, and then we mentioned the most important findings of the research.
