Abstract

The literature is a mirror that reflects the reality of societies and their aspirations. Hebrew literature, like other international literatures, closely follows the developments of the reality of the Jews in Israel or in their original communities from which they came. Since the Jewish community in Iraq is one of the oldest Jewish communities in the world, the children of this community had a broad literature that covered most aspects of the social, political and religious life of the people of this community and the history of its history.

The novel "Farewell Baghdad"  by Eli Amir was one of the novels that embodied the political history of the Jews of Iraq in the middle of the 20th century at an important stage in Jewish history coincided with the declaration of the establishment of the State of Israel and the accompanying massive immigration of Iraqi Jews to Israel.

The research was based mainly on the analysis of the novel "Farewell Baghdad" and the development of the features of political history, as well as the research relied on a number of sources of Modern Hebrew literature in Hebrew and reached a number of important conclusions.
