The Desalination of Water in the Arabian Gulf Countries Study in the Geography of Water Resources
Abstract
This research deals with the reality of desalination of sea water in the six Gulf
countries, namely, (United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and
Kuwait) noting the development of this technology and the status at the present time
and the methods used in desalination, and the number of desalination plants and the
size of the sweetener, and the future of this technology and new ways and the
challenges they face, and the actions taken by the Gulf states to overcome those
challenges, and then the possible scenarios of water resources in general and the
desalination of sea water in particular, to the specific results make some proposals to
preserve the available water resources and the development of desalination of sea
water at the lowest cost
