The Director's Role in Psychodrama Shows
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the director's role in psychodrama shows. For this reason, the researchers relied on the analytical descriptive approach by referring to a number of previous studies that used psychodrama presentations. The sample consisted of (10) previous studies that used psychodrama shows, which were published during the period (2005-2020 AD). The research relied on the analysis form that was prepared as a research tool. The results indicated that the director plays several roles in the psychodrama shows, starting with choosing the subject and the individuals who play the roles, and then preparing them by training them on some breathing and relaxation exercises, followed by the director training them on their roles in those shows, and encouraging them to play the role in every way. Automatic and spontaneous in order to vent their emotions and express the problems they suffer from, and those roles end with closing the session and ending the performances, and then the director applies psychological measures to know the extent of improvement in the required skills and behavior, and this indicates the role of the director in evaluating psychodrama shows. In light of the results, a set of recommendations and proposals were presented.
