Manifestations of the cultural diversity of globalization and its impact on social cohesion
Abstract
The current research deals with the manifestations of cultural diversity in the light of globalization and its impact on the social coercion of Iraqi society, following the political and social changes that accompanied the fall of the ruling political system in April 2003 and the changes that followed in the cultural aspect. The society has yet to be liberated from the culture of the militarization of society and the control of one party, as well as the growth of globalization as a culture and cosmic system that governs the world. A huge impact on the process of social cohesion due to the practice of individuals by the practice of the cultural patterns produced by globalization. Imported, it opposes the prevailing and inherited value system, and that social networking sites have a set of negative effects that threaten social cohesion, such as spreading extremist ideas, pornographic images, the spread of electronic addiction, and a sense of isolation and alienation, and the diversity of cultures. In light of globalization, it raises a value struggle between generations, because each party believes that its culture is the fittest, and this conflict leads to a defect in social cohesion.
